TESTIMONIALS
Dear Phil,
Well, I finally got my health back this past year and went sailing
from here, St.John USVI, down to Venezuela. I installed the vane
finally after having it resting in its box on the pilot berth
for over a year. I put about 2000 miles on the unit and well,
WOW! That suckers’ really cool. From Light air down wind
to 40 kts. She worked fantastic. I didn’t need some long
learning period either.
So thank you,

Dear Phil,
We have been using our NORVANE self-steering wind vane for several
years now and are very pleased with the results it has given
us. As you know, our boat is a 1975 ex IOR, 2 ton racer, which
we have converted into a cruising boat. So, with a fin keel and
spade rudder, it is not the most stable tracking boat. Even with
these disadvantages the “Norvane” has kept us on
a very accurate course.
Having used this vane in very sloppy seas, 35 knots of wind down
to 7 knots of apparent wind, the “Norvane” has always
performed well for us.
We sailed for eight years across the Atlantic and Caribbean seas
on our other boat with an aluminum vane. I find the “NORVANE” with
all the roller bearings a much more sensitive and responsive unit.
I would highly recommend the “Norvane” to anyone who
is in the market for a self steering unit.
We will continue to enjoy the “Norvane” on our next
passage to Hawaii .
Sincerely

Dear Phil,
I am writing from the Great Sale Cay in the Bahamas to tell you
how happy we are with the vane.
After many delays we finally left Florida for the Bahamas yesterday
with a forecast for three days of 5-10 knot and 1-2 foot seas in
the Gulf Stream. Well, we had 15 to 20 knots with a few gusts and
very steep 4 to 6 foot seas. All we had to do was reef down and
hang on; the Norvane did the rest for the 19.5 hours it took us.
It was really fantastic and we are obviously very happy we decided
to purchase the Norvane.
Hello again,
The vane did another great job on our last leg which was rather
gusty. I must say that the unit works great, we couldn’t
be happier with its performance.
Thanks,

Dear Phil,
Hope these pictures help in the marketing of your product. I had
to modify the installation a bit by bringing the supports inboard
5” and on to 2” blocks to maintain the distance of
the gear to water line.
It works great.
Thanks,

Hi Phil,
Firstly, I wanted to thank you for the very professional way that
my self-steering unit was packaged and shipped to me. Everything
arrived safely and with the “parts list” enclosed,
it was easy to check everything off. Secondly, I have to say
again Phil; the Norvane is one pretty piece of engineering. I
set up a piece of plywood in my basement last night at about
the same angle as the stern of my boat and assembled the whole
unit using screws and washers to attach the brackets. When I
had everything assembled I could envision the unit on my sailboat
and looking at the way it is all put together, I can see that
a great deal of thought, engineering and refinement has gone
into the design & manufacture. My fiancé said it looked
like a piece of art!
